Re: Review: Mount Gay Extra Old Rum
Thanks Jimbo, I think it is complex enough to keep one interested and I agree that it is one of the first rums one should buy and he is probably going to buy considering its price and global availability. Is it still 50 dollars in the states?

Review: Mount Gay Extra Old Rum
http://www.refinedvices.com/newsimages/rum/mountgayextraoldanglet.jpg The Mount Gay Estate is one of the oldest estates in the Caribbean, and definitely the oldest on Barbados. Many believe rum has been produced on the estate as early as 1663, which is the year William Sandiford bought the estate. ...

I pray she finds t...

I have tried the Blue Label on a couple of occasions at Theodore S. Maul, Esq' place and I do find it enjoyable and extremely mellow on its own without the addition of any ice or water. Great post JaRiMi and a good point about ice. I personally do not like my spirits cold, I find the taste is best when warm. Re: Review: Jameson Irish Whiskey Spectacular Double Bill
I just received this piece of information from one of my readers named Eli Baskin who found an answer for the JQ code stating the following: "A number on the neck of every bottle (JQ058548) refers to a cask opened by John Jameson in 1806 which he found to be perfect. It became the Jameson standard a...

Very nice explaination Capn Jimbo. How about some names of rums that are non-tweaked/unaltered/unmolested? As mentioned in another thread, anything from Richard Seale aka Foursquare Distillery is a safe bet. St. Nicholas Abbey and Bristol Spirits Classic Rums as well. Edit: +Rhum Agricole ie Clément.

I also found Brugal to be very musty in flavour. I didn't find it horrible but it didn't really "do it for me" in any case. A lot of people I know love Brugal, however.
